In Galatians 6:16 Paul refers to “the Israel of God.” Paul’s purpose In writing the book was to oppose the Judaizers who held that circumcision and keeping the Old Testament law contributed to salvation. In verse 16 “those who will walk by this rule” were the Gentile believers who were following Paul’s teaching and “the Israel of God” were born again Jews who along with Paul opposed the Judaizers.
