A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 25:1-13 the center and climax in the parable of the prudent and foolish virgins is the coming of the bridegroom when all were asleep (Matt 25:5-6).
