A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 21:23-27, the climax is the question of Jesus to the chief priests and elders, “‘The baptism of John was from what source, from heaven or from men?” and the inability of them to answer (Matt 21:25-26),
