A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in the second. Typically whatever is in the center of the chiasm is what is being emphasized. The emphasis in Jeremiah 31:6 is on the fact that since the fixed order of the sun, moon, and stars (Jer 31:35) will never depart, the offspring of Israel will never cease from being a nation.
