A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 20: 20-23, The climax is Jesus indicating that his disciples will drink of the same cup of suffering as he will drink (Matt 20:22-23a).
