A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Acts 13:1-4 the center and climax is the Holy Spirit saying, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them” (13:2c).
