A chiasm is a literary structure where themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 the center and climax is that God established in Christ and annointed us. A Now He who establishes us (1:21a) B with you in Christ (Greek: christos) (1:21b) B’ and anointed (Greek: chriō) us is God, (1:21c) A’ who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
